New Zealand Jab Injury – Sophie, From New Zealand

This is me, a healthy, fit twenty-year-old in hospital with a portable heart monitor on. I wanted to share what happened to me not to change people’s points of view or to even change their decision, but to share what happened to me so people know. On Friday, October 15th 2021, I got my first COVID-10 jab. Straight away, I got a metallic taste in my mouth and that night, I blew my nose and a palm  sized blood clot came out (keep in mind, I’ve never had a blood nose in my life); the next day I woke up feeling below average and sore all over. Towards the end of the day, I started to get a tight chest. Over the course of the following days, this tightness became longer and breathing was becoming very difficult. I began to get heart palpitations. By Tuesday afternoon, I could say more than three words without becoming completely out of breath, and I went to the emergency department. I spent two days in the hospital hooked up to many different heart monitors and getting multiple blood tests and chest x-rays done. The doctor’s couldn’t/wouldn’t tell me what was wrong. One doctor told me I was having a reaction to the vaccine. Another interrupted her and talked about my blood pressure instead. Another doctor tried to tell me I had asthma all my life, which, of course, I have not. ATHey ended up discharging me without telling me what was wrong with me or what had caused my condition. They gave me an inhaler but told me to only use it if I can’t breathe completely as I’m not asthmatic, and it’s bad for me. I have now used this inhaler four times, I will only use it if I’m about to pass out. It’s been a week since I’ve been out of hospital, and it’s not getting any better. If anything, it’s starting to get worse. I’m very frustrated as to why doctor’s can’t/won’t tell me what’s wrong with me, as it’s preventing me from doing everyday things and the things I love the most. The more I talk to people about what has happened to me, the more I find out this is happening to lots of people. I’m not sure why it’s such a secret. Hopefully I get better soon because I’m sick of not being able to breathe.
